8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – 2nd Day – Principles of Irrigation Class, MAYBE

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Technical Training and Business Classes for IIEA Members. This is a great opportunity for members of the IIEA to learn something new or take a refresher course.

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Booth Setup & Registration – Setup your booths. Bring door prize items during registration time. Fill out description slips for each item. Pick up your packets.

5 p.m. – Pinewood Derby Car Weigh-In

6 p.m. – IIEA Annual Membership Meeting,
Banquet, Elections and IIEA Pinewood Derby

7:00 a.m. – IIEA Past President’s Breakfast, (Invitation Only) – Shilo Inn Lounge

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Trade Show Open to Public, Shilo Inn

2017 Technical Training for IIEA Members

9:00-9:55 Electric Motor Preventative Maintenance – Tim Browne, Industrial Electric Motor Service, will teach tricks to keep a motor running and extend its life.

Jorge Rios with J.R. Pivot Service, LLC will teach this class in Spanish in the Green Room.

10:00-10:55 – Troubleshooting Pumps – Zachari Taylor, Layne Pumps Inc., will discuss basic application and troubleshooting of pumps.

11:00 – 12:00 – NRCS Hour – Dan Murdock,Natural Resources Conservation Service, will discuss the latest issues with large diameter PVC pipe, end gun removal, variable rate irrigation, and LESA/LEPA systems.

12:00-1:00 Lunch 

1:00-1:55 State and Federal Transportation Laws & Your Business – Senior Specialist Bruce Sweat Idaho State Police, will review laws and regulations associated with the transportation of equipment and driving.

2:00-2:55 – Minimizing Risk Management – Bill Bankhead, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, will discuss how a company and their employees can minimize safety and health risks.

3:00-4:00 Electrical Safety – Trevor Parke, United Electric Co-Op, will discuss how to be safe in the field while setting up irrigation equipment on the job. Tour a demonstration trailer to really understand electricity’s power.

2017 Business Classes for IIEA Members

11 am – 12 noon Coaching, Corrective Action and Termination: How to Avoid Nightmares – Rebekah Yancey, SHRM-CP, PHR, Human Resources Manager for Commercial Creamery Company. When members of your team aren’t meeting your expectations what steps do you need to take?  This session will talk about coaching, discipline and termination and how to avoid the pitfalls that can turn into costly mistakes.


1 pm – 3 pm Utilizing Social Media and Networking to Market Your Business, Justin Minchey, President of Justin Minchey Training Consulting Services. Course Description: This training will assist members on how to utilize Social Media such as LinkedIn and Facebook to market your business.  The training will have an in-depth look into how to use social media to grow and market your business, facilitate advertisement, increase sales and network with other like companies across the nation.
