Alyssa Hansten is a 2019 graduate of Jerome High School and will be attending the University of Idaho to major in Biological Engineering in the fall of 2019. Her ultimate career goal is to create prosthetics for children or work in a food processing company. In high school, she maintained a 3.92 GPA while taking several dual-credit courses and being active in the Jerome FFA Chapter, the varsity girls golf team, National Honor Society, and the Magic Valley Beekeepers Association. She served as a Jerome FFA Chapter Officer all four years of high school and as the South Magic Valley District FFA Secretary her senior year. During high school, Alyssa competed in several FFA Career and Leadership Development Events at the district, state, and national levels. Her favorite events were Milk Quality and Products, Land Evaluation, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Food Science. Alyssa was also active in the Jerome County Clever Clovers 4-H Club as a teen mentor and participated in the Know Your Government project. She has raised honey bees and market goats all four years of high school through FFA. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys playing her guitar and creating metal art.
