Mathew Zimmerman is currently enrolled at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. He is studying mechanical engineering and mechanical technology and will complete his fourth year in May, 2016. He is pursuing a career within the agricultural and irrigation industry and would like to thank the Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association for making this scholarship possible. He graduated from DeSales High School, Walla Walla, WA in 2012. Mathew enjoyed sports in high school and played varsity football, basketball and track. He earned the rank of Eagle while in Boy Scouts and assisted with the National Ski Patrol at his local ski area. College in Montana has so far been a great experience. He is a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, the Student Alumni Association and is working as a Shop Supervisor at the Montana State University machine shop. He enjoys the hunting, fishing and skiing when time permits. His goal is to complete both degrees in five years. This summer he applied for and was accepted for a summer internship as a Project Engineer for Kiewit Construction. He is looking forward to this chance to see how proper planning of a construction setting can have big impacts to an agricultural environment. Although he is just getting started it is a great way to continue his education and get ready for next fall. He again relayed his thanks to the manufacturers, dealerships and all the people that make the I.I.E.A. and the scholarship program possible.
