Trent Taysom graduated from Rockland High School in 1998 with a 3.5 GPA and is currently studying a Master’s Degree with the University of Idaho in Plant Science. He participated in the BPA, FFA, and R-club, and played basketball and track. Trent is an Eagle Scout and hopes to be involved with scouting throughout his life. He also received other honors in scouting, which included Order of the Arrow-Brotherhood, On My Honor Award, and the Faith in God Award. After high school, Trent attended Ricks College for one year and then served a 2-year mission for the LDS Church. He graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2005 with a BS in Agricultural Science and a 3.7 GPA. He grew up working the soil on the family farm in Rockland, Idaho where he learned to appreciate the land and the fruits of his labors. His hope is to be an agronomist or a crop consultant for an Ag or farm company and to educate growers and others on the importance of crop health and quality.
