Valene Lickley is a 2012 Valley High School graduate and is now attending Colorado State University where she is double majoring in Animal Science and Civil Engineering with a concentration in Soil and Water. Valene aspires to engineer for the agriculture industry, specifically engineering feedlots and dairies for long term efficiencies and sustainability. She grew up on a fifth-generation farm and ranch in Southern Idaho where her family has a commercial cow-calf operation and grows silage corn, alfalfa, wheat, barley, and potatoes. She is actively involved in the Collegiate Cattlewomen and Stewards of Animal Science. With her involvement in these clubs and organizations, she has had the opportunity to expand her leadership opportunities by being the Collegiate Cattlewomen Vice President. She is also a member of the Society of Women Engineers and Engineering Student Technology Committee. Valene enjoys and appreciates the many opportunities that she has been granted to gain more experience and knowledge in both the agriculture and engineering fields.
