Madison Reeves graduated from Battle Ground High School with a 3.99 GPA and is now a junior at Washington State University Vancouver with a 3.89 GPA. Currently, Madison is on a pre-med track to graduate in May 2020 with her B.S. in Biology and minors in Microbiology and Chemistry. Her career goal is to become a medical doctor, specifically an orthopedic surgeon. Madison’s passion to become a doctor has grown as she shadows orthopedic surgeons in the operation room and works as an aide at a physical therapy clinic. In January of 2018, Madison joined her sister in opening a floral business. In the past year they have gained a large following of customers by doing numerous weddings, events, and special holidays. This successful business has provided Madison with a creative outlet for her to relax and destress after a long day at school and studying. In her free time Madison enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering for various activities. Some of her volunteer activities include packing food and care packages at the local food bank, working as a classroom assistant at the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Washington, coaching 5 and 6 year-old boys soccer, coaching 10 year-old girls soccer, coaching 7th and 8th grade girls basketball, working as a group leader for numerous soccer and softball youth camps, tutoring students who need help in math and science, and her favorite volunteer activity of all, coaching the Special Olympics Unified soccer team. Through this program, she has had the opportunity to coach and play alongside intellectually disabled individuals. From coaching, Madison has gained a greater understanding of these kids, while fostering their social acceptance.
